a dance in another space, relating to the memory of others, channeling the presence of someone else

our personal histories

how to bring them in? what are the ethical problems of asking that kind of engagement from Will as a performer? how to do it without manipulating him? is it even possible to not be manipulative about? this feels already manipulative enough, however criptic and ungraspable.

it would make sense to bring into the work our own histories, their traces, their spaces. the point is, as usual, to figure out how they can become communicative and a part of the audience’s experience. would they need to be transparent? could we fake them? should I pretend that people from my family were disappeared during the last dictatorship in Argentina?
